In recognition of the celebration of the former African National Congress president Oliver Tambo, the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), has concentrated its efforts in the Eastern Cape to accelerate the advancement and improvement of maritime interests and the building of the oceans economy, including promoting marine tourism.
Tambo was one of the leaders of the South African liberation movement and a founding father of the constitutional democracy.
