William “Bill” Austin Bailey Jr.

On Friday, September 18th, 2020, our most cherished, William Austin Bailey Jr., passed away at the Raleigh General Hospital following a sudden illness.   He was 50 years of age.

Affectionately known as Bill all his life, William was the oldest of two children.  He was born on June 1st, 1970, in Fairfax, Virginia.  He was the beloved son of William Austin and Nancy Belle Blankenship Bailey of Beckley.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, Henry C. and Betty J. Bailey and James and Wilda Irene Blankenship.  His first born child, Mark Austin Daniel has preceded him in death as well.  

A 1993 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Bill spent his childhood in Beckley.  He was an iron worker by trade having last worked at GSI Seneca Steel.   In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and being with his family.

In addition to his parents, he leaves to cherish his wife, Jessica Marie Bailey and their children, William Austin III, Suzanne Evelynne, Ellie Mae and Emma Belle; his sister, Melissa Kay Ryan and her spouse, Lisa; a niece, Tori Snuffer; paternal uncle, Larry Bailey; maternal uncle and aunt, James Blankenship and Sharon Braskey; a large extended family and many friends.
